Not really seen in the US except South Florida, according to Wikipedia. I really like how the setting sun limns the flower. I would be tempted to clone out the ants.

Balan: Ditto Phil regarding the ants which I hardly ever find to be endearing party crashers. Love the light and comp. >=))>

I really like the background and how it sets off the colors and detail, and the glow from the backlight is excellent. The comp and POV are also very good.
The ants give a sense of habitat, but I agree about cloning them out.

Balan very nice image. Bright, bold, exciting image of Heliconia.

Beautiful transparencies in this different photo that I like very much. The silhouettes of the small ants give more sense of life to the image.

Balan, The light, the dark and the color are wonderful. The ants: Where did you find a Heliconia with so few ants?

Balan, as an entomologist, I completely appreciate both the wonderful silhouetted/backlit heliconia, as well as the ants, especially the ones inside the flower shell. There has to be one in every crowd doesn't there?
