Spring Is Almost Here!
by Lucy VanSwearingen
Here's another iris from last year. It seems, that Hurricane Harvey's flooding of my flowerbed (thank God, not my home) killed most of my narcissus, but was a boom for my irises. they have multiplied like crazy. No buds yet, but even my hibiscus is leafing out. And the redbuds are fantastic! SPRING IN TEXAS is AMAZING! I've even seen a few Indian Paintbrushes.

7 commentsThis is quite nice. I like the color and your choice of depth of field. The framing is also interesting and complimentary, although it was not immediately clear to me why the outer line only went around two sides until I realized it was a mat simulation. I think on that you might need a little more definition on the bottom and right. Would love to see equipment, exposure and how processed!
The above are very small nits, as this is a fine photograph.
Congrats on the WP!

I can hardly wait! my irises are budding out and will be blooming in a few days!
Oh, the mat simulation is for some of my clients, including myself, who don't want to go through the expense and hassle of framing. I can print 200 yr. archival 13 x 19 prints on my Epson 600.
