Midwinters Morning Dream

I made a bee line for Scotland this winter when I saw a week of snow forecast. The weather was generally awful when I got there but fortunately some occasional bursts of good light to shoot every day. Here's the winter wonderland when after several days, the heavy weather cleared for good.
Single exposure, Canon 5DMk4, 16-35mm, ISO 50, f22, 0.8s.

Ideal winter conditions - running water and everything coated in snow but not so much that the river gets choked.  Hard to come by in a lot of locals unless at the beginning or end of the season.  Beautiful lines through the image.  Bottom left snow rocks looks a little too cyan compared to the others - might try selectively adjusting this.

I did do a last minute darkening of that snow you mention Harry and didn’t notice the more pronounced cyan coming through unfortunately.

I can see why you came here when you heard about the snow.Very interesting and lovely site, with the curve of the stream backed up by trees and peaks, all holding beautiful layers of snow.  Your composition makes the most of the topography and the light.  Well planned and executed.

Real nice winter scene. The cyan corner has been covered, so no nits here.

What a beautiful winter scene this is. This composition is wonderful and makes for a great view. The winter light is really nice and the snow is so pretty. I can see why you made a bee line for this area. Love this!

Really nice. I like the zig zag of the stream leading me back to the splendid snow covered trees and hills, topped by a nice blue sky. I know it's just an illusion, but I get the feeling the water is running uphill.

Your quick trip really paid off with this winter beauty, Kah. Even though it looks cold the freshly fallen snow is so inviting. Other than the already mentioned LLC I would not change a thing.

Awesome combination of warm tones in undoubtedly cold water and snow. That distant peak just makes it. I'm really enjoying your recent studies in snowy environments.

Kah Kit, that big V of the stream through the snow makes a great foreground.  The snowy trees and the peaks with just a touch of sunlight top off an beautiful view.

The snow pillows and the red rocks below the water go nicely together.

What a breathtaking scene! The clumps of snow on the rocks forms a lovely base to complement the towering peaks in the distance. I am also enjoying the morning glow which makes everything look so fresh. The composition has a nice flow and offers a strong sense of movement.
