My Little Chickadee

At least that's the species the peanut feeder was supposed to attract (and it does so quite well).  This young deer appears to be the ringleader of a group of five at raiding my bird feeders.  I've pretty much conceded that they're going to get their share.  When I was in my blind yesterday taking these pictures I'd tell them to go away and leave something for the birds, but I had to growl before they'd leave and they wouldn't stay away very long.  This one was always the first to return.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 175 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick, f/8, 1/5000, iso 2500 (a mistake-not sure how I adjusted it without realizing it), aperture priority, pattern metering -2/3 EV (set for real Chickadees).  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped from the sides and some canvas added on the top.  Taken yesterday at 8:35 am.

Comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Aww, he is just too cute, Dennis!  Hey, he has to eat too!  Very nice detail in the fir, and great post processing (I never would have known that you had added any canvas at the top.  Nice capture.

Very nice chickadee photo, must be a first!  Hair instead of feathers, 4 legs, no wings, and look at those ears!  Neat photo thanks for sharing.

Dennis, very nice. I do see a clip in his ear, wonder if he was caught at one time. The detail in the fur is very nice. His fur color and tree are almost exact.

Dennis: the light and the pose are excellent and I really like seeing the detail in the deer's hair. The lone seed falling to the ground tells the story. Richard

Cool shot Dennis.  I like the composition in the cropping works for me. Nice focus on the deer. Very nice work! Ry
