" You can capture, captive breed or even train the wild but you can never ever tame it" an excerpt from Born Wild by Swati Thiyagarajan. Recently I have been reading a lot on the human-animal conflict and how leopards are on the receiving end as they have to share their space with encroaching human settlements which once used to be their fiefdom. Without much fan bases like their mighty cousins The Tiger and The Lion, they are captured and displaced which causing more trouble for both the species. I saw this leopard in Delhi Zoo and what just not leaving my mind the look of his that I saw through my lens...There is a question lingering in that look WHY?

Another excellent captive portrait, Nishand, and a very good question.  We do seem determined to crowd out everything else.
