Thermophile Abstract

I'm still going through my YNP hot spring pictures and found this one among the archives.  I was able to deepen most of the colors via tone-mapping. The original colors were quite pale due to the strong sunlit conditions.  I brightened and increased the overall exposure and ran some adjustment curves on luminosity masks for darks, lights, and midtones. K5 IIs  35mm (1/1600 sec at f3.5, Iso 250), panorama crop for comp.......................................Jim

It has been 20 years since i have been to YNP.  The colors look good in your image.  Maybe a slight crop to rid the darker area along the top left edge?  I like the gentle S flow of the pool.

Excellent image, Jim. The colors are great. Nice work on the processing. All things being equal (i.e., final ratio does not matter), I agree with Doug's suggested crop.

I like the contrast of blue and yellow. the colors are muted but attractive. Very interested in How you did this by tone-mapping. the colors are beautiful!

I'm with Doug's crop idea.  Think it would make a big improvement in this image, for some reason.  Just beautiful tones and flow of the image.

Really good colors, textures, forms, and shapes.  Well done abstract that needs to be seen large.  I agree with the crop idea.

Those hot springs are amazing, aren't they.  I like the gentle sweep of color in this.  Kinda neat that there's no sense of scale. Nice one.

Like this image a lot Jim! Great colors and composition.  Good job keeping the image on the diagonal.  Keep up the good work!

This is nicely done. I like the pano crop since it showcases the nice curving lines. You did a fine job processing this for the abstract look.
