Kachina Reflections

The high clouds looked promising, there was some light snow on the San Francisco Peaks, and the winds was almost calm, so I stayed close to home to for sunset last evening. The Kachina Wetlands are about a mile from the house, so they make for a good local area for walks and photography.  The clouds eventually turned red, but by then, the soft light on the peaks had vanished.

Doug, This is wonderful work. Excellent composition and wonderful soft light and colors. So nice when you have a place close to home that you can get to in just a short time when conditions are looking good. A very beautiful and inviting scene that you captured perfectly imo.

Love that wonderful peach colored light, Doug. The sky and the mountains look great. Is that a dragon in the notch between the two peaks on the right? This looks like a fine place to wander and look around.

I think the soft pastel colors work very well with the soft light! Nice comp too. If this was a mile from my house, I'd spend a lot of time there.

Lovely color and detail in this, and it is probably even more special when you are familiar with the location.  I like the soft glow in this; you did a great job on getting that.

Thank you for your comments.  There used to be elk that frequented these wetlands during the summer, but it has been a few years since I have seen them.  I occasionally still see some coyotes, a bald eagle and an osprey.

This is real nice, Doug. Well constructed composition, beautiful soft light and pastel colors. Processing looks spot-on.

I really like so much about this image. The overall pink cast gives the sense of morning so well. However, the reeds in the very fg get in the way of this peaceful scene. I would crop them off to where the darker reeds just start ( and burn in the few bright ones sticking out).
