I photographer this flower when looking unsuccessfully for birds.  Not sure what it is.Morning Glory?  Trumpet flower? Anyway, it was windy and I was on a beach so I did not take the TC off (due to not wanting to mess up my sensor). and had to have a little different setting than I would normally for a flower.

D800, 300mm f4 with 1.4 TC (effective 420), 1/1250 sec. ISO 1000

Comments and critiques always appreciated

Regards to all

Looks great to me Kathy. I really like the effect of a glowing center that this has. It looks like morning glory to me, and this really fits the name.

I like the glow and diffused feeling. The colors are impressive. Tiny nit:There is a bit of background in the upper right corner that could be eliminated.

Heavenly Blue Morning Glory, to be precise. Beautiful colors and glow. I agree with Jim—make that little triangle of BG in the URC go away.cool To be honest, I didn't see it until he mentioned it. Now I can't take my eyes off it!blush

Kathy: Reminds me of some of the work of Nathan Buck with morning glories. Please take that as the high compliment intended. This is a beauty and the repost merely fixes the tiniest of nits. Most excellent.>=))>

PS: I edited your title to reflect the repost. It's always good to let folks know in case they want to revisit.

Super shot Kathy! Love the composition. Really pulls you into the flower itself. Colors are superb, etheric. Keep up the good work!

Great light and comp.Kathy - and the repost is even better than the original ( though  not sure I would have noticed the touch of bg if it had not been pointed out !! )
