I remember the the B&W, Bill, and I like this color version. My only nit is the sky color. It looks overly magenta to me. The dunes and the moon look great. Both have lots of detail, and the dunes have very nice texture.

Having looked at both the black-and-white images now the color image I must say I prefer the black-and-white at this point. I agree with Preston about the sky being a little unusual. On my monitor it looks like there is a blotchy magenta cast. The shadowing in the black-and-white image creates dramatic contrasts just not seen in the color.

Nice composition on this image! Yea, besides the comments that have been made on the sky, I also see a lot of artifacts in the sky. Maybe compression issues, not sure.

Bill,
While this is a fabulous dunescape, I much prefer your original b&w rendition (which one is correctly orientated?)
For some reason, this color version seems almost over processed, especially the sky where it looks like jpg artifacts. It's as if you reprocessed from an already re-sized jpg rather than going back to RAW. Not sure what's happening in the sky.
Really like the scene and would like to see a reworked image, if you're so inclined.

Love teh other-wordly look of the BW, but the color works well too. The sky seems to be the major issue as already noted, so hopefully that can be corrected. The stark dunes go well with moons.

I prefer the b&w also - due to comments already mentioned.

I remember the B&W version as it was very other worldly, Bill. My favorite is the B&W, but the color version also works well with the warm and cool color combination. I hope you can fix the already mentioned issue with the sky because this is definitely a winner.
