Quiet Country Evening

This country pond seems to have only one resident...a lone duck in the distance.  I was going to clone out the power lines, when I realized, that they were very rural, too....as they are draped with kudzu vines.  The colors and reflections were amazing.

The flowers nearshore on the left side are the "dreaded" water hyacinths.  They have lovely purple flowers, but grow so quickly, waterways become completely covered and unnavigable.  FYI,  "The water hyacinth was introduced in 1884 at the World's Fair in New Orleans, also known as the World Cotton Centennial. The plants were given away as gifts by a group of visiting Japanese."

An interesting image as your choice for favorite photo of 2017!  I like the various levels of color, lights and darks.  Even the lone duck adds to the photo.  Also like the level of details you have in the shadow areas.  Also interesting info on the water hyacinth.  Thanks for sharing.

It does look like a peaceful sunset, Lucy.  That duck is a neat extra that partly because it takes some looking to find.

Beautiful, Lucy. I like the dynamic sky and rays of the setting sun. Good job of blocking the bright area of reflected light with the hyacinths.
