Frigid Flow

Awoke to heavy snow and white out conditions this particular morning but made it out to some spots I had scouted the previous evening in Jasper. Amazingly the heavy weather cleared to some sweet morning light; but before that happened, I captured this in driving snow.

Like the pristine snow conditions on the trees and the ice chunks below the water. Nice contrast between the rushing water streaking by and the stillness of the fog and clouds in the distance.  Hope to get out in these kind of conditions soon.

It looks as if you were able to get fairly low to the water and I like the sense of motion it creates.  It draws one into the photo.   Very nice,

Really nice Kah.  I love the water texture and the underlying structure of the stream bed.  I think this would make a real nice B/W, but I love the subtle colors of the stream.

Beautiful snow scene. My favorite part consists of the colored rocks underwater. It would have been interesting to see how they looked with a fast shutter speed. Interesting image.

What a wonderful winter scene this is. Great composition and you did an excellent job of capturing the winter mood of this snowy morning. The shutter speed worked perfectly for me with just the right amount of flow and texture in the water, and I also like that we can still see the rocks below. The cool light blue tones really help to give that cold winter feel. Excellent work Kah! I like this alot!

What a great looking winter wonderland, Kah. Great water textures and I like being able to see some of the rocks under the surface of the water. I also like the diagonal motion of the water as it draws me into this beautiful scene. It may not have been possible as I was not there, but I do find myself wishing the bit of ice bottom center right was not cut off. Certainly not a deal breaker as this is lovely as is.

Kah Kit,

Frigid indeed! This image really does capture that feeling.  I think a main reason it does is the perspective and viewpoint - it's as if you're standing, or even lying right there in the river!  Brrrrrrrr!  Freezing indeed.

Wonderful composition with the water pulling the eye deep in to the frame.  I don't get the sense of a driving snow storm, but that doesn't matter.  I really like the colors in the water that really add to this mostly monochromatic scene.

Well seen and beautifully captured and crafted!

Kah Kit - I hope you had waterproof boots on !!!

Wonderful image here with lots of drama and mood. The perspective of getting right down low at the river creates such a sense of depth. Nice work.

The sense of cold and serenity come across very well, Kah Kit. The color is fabulous. This works very well. Nicely done!
