Denali NP, Eielson Visitor Center
We took the bus tour into the interior of the park on our final day. Our last stop was at the Eielson Visitor Center. I had about 15 minutes to grab some extracts. The air was full of mist and dust and made for some interesting atmospherics. This is not noisy/grainy but rather a pretty good depiction of the texture of the rocky hills and tundra plants. The tundra is in fall display it seems.  The abstract feel is perfect.  Maybe  try a little midtone contrast, but very appealing as is.  Looks like backpack heaven.

I really like the transisiton from cool to warm. As a whole it's very balanced in me eyes.

This has a real painterly look to it Bill. Nice balanced composition and as Ryan stated, nice transition from greys to reds top to bottom. It is definitely grainy looking. I could see applying some kind of artistic filter to smooth it out a bit into an art piece.

Wonderful design that you have 'extracted' from these mountians, Bill.  Love the sloping diagonals that recede back from the foeground and the nice, very natural autumn colors.  While some might push the contrast and color, like some of those/us oldguys that still use film, I am really enjoying your image.  Hope you were able to make some images like this in the Polychrome Pass area; another spectacular area for autumn color and colors in the rock.

Bill,

This is absolutely fantastic!  Reminds me of something I might see from Guy Tal.  As someone already mentioned, great job extracting this intimate landscape from the broader view.  and what is absent here is scale, which adds a touch of mystery to this.

The variety of muted colors and the natural design is just beautiful.

If I had anything to nitpick it would be that this appears slightly crunchy to me.  But then it's almost fitting for this scene.

Love this - great eye!

This is indeed a fine image and it does resemble a Guy Tal in composition and even in color. My prejudice is against tall verticals so I would probably crop this in one of two ways. 1) Crop just below the snow patch to create a warmer image 2) Crop just above the large red area for a cooler image. I prefer the cooler version. Good work either way.

This is a beauty.  Love the warm and cool tones. I just read Igor's comment of it looking like one of Guy's and I have to agree. And that is a very nice compliment. Very well done!

Well done. People who have not seen the real thing will think this needs some work, but I think it very accurately reflects thos atmospheric conditions you had.  Nicely done, and you caught some sweet color!
