Grizzly Bear

During my September Great Bear Rainforest tour, we encountered this grizzly bear while walking ashore in one of the many inlets on this part of the BC coast.  He had found a comfortable day bed that allowed him to warm up in the morning sunshine.  Though I've captured more dynamic moments involving grizzlies, this is one of the lovelier settings I've had for a bear portrait.

IMHO this is a fine portrait of a grizzly bear.  The details are great as shown in the larger image.  I do like how there is good details through out the bears coat and face.  Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful pose and great setting. He's sitting like big cats.
I may be tempted to clone out the tiny white spots around the Bear.

Wow Max! It doesn't get much better than this. Love the calm demeanor, the wonderful setting, and the amazing light and details.

Max, a view like this might give grizzlies a bad name for being meditative and mellow.  It's a great look.

The light on the face makes this one for me. It allows for a great look at the eyes, which is difficult to capture with bears. Just a really strong image.
