Chestnutbacked Chickadee

Another from Monday morning.  If you look very closely at the beak, you'll see evidence that this bird was eating peanut butter off the back of this old stump.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 451 mm, Jobu Gimbal mounted to blind window, f/9, 1/640, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR + PS CC.  Since the stump is pretty low down, I got a lot more texture from the bg grasses in this image than the last post, so I did some cloning, burning, contrast, saturation and brightness adjustments to mellow out the bg.   I also brightened the dark perch a bit.  Cropped to 15 MP before resizing.  Taken at 9:02 am on Monday (I need to get the cameras changed to standard time).

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

I think you got real nice morning light on this Chestnut Backed Chickadee.  I like the pose and the head turn.  I like the texture of the background.  Shadows are good on the perch.  Could perhaps use a tiny bit more room on the right side.  I'm surprised you have not received any more comments.

Good feather detail.  Nice slight head turn and catch light.   The background works well with the colors in the Chickadee.
