From mid-morning yesterday, this is likely one of the residents here in Gulfport. Recently there have been around a dozen Snowies browsing in the shallows and tide pools, and this one was finding little crabs for brunch. I tend to avoid sunny morning shoots there because the only option is looking eastward. Fortunately the soft light and calm afforded good shooting conditions, and the water was clear enough to show the sandbar just under the surface. Normally I would go for negative exposure on a white subject, but +1/3EV still allowed decent detail in the whites. Full width cropped to about 85% of original for 4:3 aspect.

Hi Bill,

The eye directed forward suggests that a meal is close at hand.  Composition and lighting look fine. Well done.................Jim

This is a nicely exposed image.  I like the reflection and the concentric rings.  The water is really pleasing.  It really brings out the reflection of the sky in addition to that of the bird.

Nice reflection shot with good detail in the whites, Bill.  I like the sand ripples under the surface ripples and I think I can just make out a hint of a yellow foot through the water.  I really like the pose-the curve of the neck is just right.
