Last Buck in Line

This is the last shot I will post of the five bucks at the Tulelake NWR a couple weeks ago. This buck was not as big as the Old Ghost I posted earlier, but it had a really nice 5/4 rack. It was very cooperative with me as I was able to work with it for five to ten minutes as it browsed through the rabbitbrush.  I really liked the colorful flowers framing this buck's portrait. Hope it works for you.  Canon 5Diii, f11, 1/3200 sec, iso 1250, -0.7 EV, 100-400 ISL ii, with 1.4 TC, at 560 mm, HH from car minimal crop.

This works well for me, in fact my favorite from this series.  I like the color, details and how the buck is framed by the bushes.  Also like how it stands out from the BG.  Thanks for sharing!

Both the background and the foreground framing are beautiful.  I might be tempted to try to remove the part of the stem or whatever closest to the buck, maybe cut it off where part of it curves down and then part with no leaves goes up toward the buck.  But this is a beautiful image, and it must have been a wonderful experience.

You must have said the right thing to elicit such a great and classic pose.  Well done.
