A juvenile of the species.  The youngsters love to race around foraging in our gardens where they just disappear.  This one perched up on an old piece of driftwood near our main pond one evening this summer where I had sufficient separation from the bg to make it stand out a bit.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ballhead and Sidekick, f/8, 1/640, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 9.7 MP before resizing.  Taken at 6:55 pm on August 6th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Hey Dennis,
Perfect entry for this WC and I'm loving how all the elements in this composition blend so well together.
Sweet . . .  laugh

This youngster blends in very well, Dennis.  That "standing tall" pose had me thinking roadrunner in the thumb.  I like the semidisguised view the the grass in front creates.  Even with that bit of grass, the sparrow stands out well.
