I looked up on my porch at a butterfly trapped by the drop down stucco level. And, I saw a strange, gray smudge. Imagine my surprise, when I zoomed in and saw, that it is a cluster of precisely laid eggs.
Does anyone know, who these eggs might belong to? A moth, maybe

I don't have the answer, but this is a very cool image, especially with the precise rows.

The details and precision of the eggs looks great, Lucy. The texture of the stucco is a neat addition.

These are really cool Lucy. I am thinking they are some kind of true bug such as a stink bug or box elder bug or something similar.

Lucy ..this is a fine find ..and i like the two tone bg. This could be from a stink bug (Pentatomidae )"" from a google search of "" silver colored insect eggs""

Still thinking they might be moth eggs....cylindrical shape not oval like stinkbugs....
Here's a cool video of some eggs up close...electron microscopy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLYOFdbDT8Y
The line of eggs is only an inch + long.

Wow, I'm glad you told us what this picture was of. Interesting composition. Might try brightening the eggs a wee bit to make them pop. This would add dimension and contrast to the picture. Keep up the good work

Well, it's weeks later. I think, these eggs got too hot. They turned a dark reddish color and then stopped without hatching
