JACKPOT !!!

This pretty lady was in my barn.  Her web was enormous...about 3+feet acrossfrown.  Actually, went out to the barn and realized, that including the attachment silk, the web was about 5 feet across!

She has hit the dinnertime jackpot with 2 beetles this night.

Handheld with speedlite.  I increased the blacks to "erase" the barn roof and stall in the BG.

I hope, you like her as much as I do!   She's a very pretty spider.

Lucy ...at the first look , this seemed to me like a shattered windscreen. Love the torn web, and the dark bg. Fine and sharp on the spiders....nice piece of work ..

Love the dark BG and spider and prey are in good detail. The web really shows well too. If you have the ability to shift spider and prey down a bit it may look a bit more balanced in the frame. I also love your choice of framing around this. Happy Halloween.

Lucy, the larger view really shows off your friend and her prey beautifully.  I too like the torn web and the black background.  My spider repaired her web twice over nearly 3 weeks, but never seemed to catch anything.  Hopefully your friend with make repairs so you can keep enjoying her presence.

Lucy, very nice image which tells a real strong story. The golden illuminated colors of the beetles against the black and white background and web help tell the story.

Love this picture! Nice composition and use of the empty space of the left for your signature. Artistic. Thanks again for all your help!

Nice one, Lucy.  It's neat to get both the spider and its prey.
