iPhone 6s
Just a quick snap shot with the iPhone because I was not carrying the "Big Guns."
Southern California beaches are especially great in the Fall/Winter.

This is a fine looking sunset, Michael. The textures in the beach add lots of depth and you've handled the sun very well. As I always tell participants when I lead a photo workshop, it's not the equipment that make a good image, it's the photographer and knowing what the equipment can and can't do.

That's quite the nuclear sunset. I'm guessing that the color space in phones (even an iPhone? are not the widest of color spaces thus providing results like this? I like the comp and as Mark points out the texture and lines on the beach are lovely and are great lead-in lines.
The only small nit is that I might be inclined to clone out the lone beach comber. Not a big distraction, but certainly noticeable.
