Caught this Anhinga as he was coming in for a landing on his favorite perch.  Any feedback is appreciated

Another great action catch, Ry.  I love the pose of the bird and the focus of the look on the perch. This is a really tough exposure with the dark bird against such a bright sky.  I'm seeing some red fringes on the bottom of the darker features.  If you are using Lightroom, there's an easy fix because all you have to do is go down the menu and you'll find a section where you can select your lens and move the defringe slider and the software will take care of it pretty nicely.  I'm not sure about other software.  There's not much detail and quite a bit of noise on the under side of the wings, which is understandable at that high an iso and the difficulty of the exposure.  With dark birds like this and the bright sky about all you can do is try to expose for the bird and let the sky go white if that's what it takes.

I sure wish I had your reflexes.  You have some excellent catches of difficult action.

Very nice action captured.  The incoming landing pose is nice.  There is a LOT of noise showing in the image.  It really looks like the dark wings were brought up in post processing.  At 1/4000, f/8 and ISO 2000 you would have had to have a lot of light to support those settings.  With the brighter background, I'm guessing the bird was underexposed out of the camera at those settings.

A wonderful action capture. Along with Keith's comments I might clone out the branch in the lower left corner. It also seems a bit cramped in the frame, less crop if possible or add a little canvas.

Amazing photo, he reminds me of someone I know.  I like how the bird is coming right at you. NICE!
