Female Cardinal

When I was walking out of Sweetwater Wetlands Park, almost at the gate, this female cardinal stopped close to me long enough for one burst of shots, then flew away.  I knew she was in the shadows, and it would be better with more space in the frame at the bottom, but this is the first real shot I've ever gotten of a female cardinal, and this makes me really happy.

Nice job, Barbara.  Even against the bright bg you have excellent detail in the Cardinal's plumage and I like the head turn.  I think you have just enough room at the bottom.

This has really nice elements, Barbara. I like the little bit of back light at the crown, slightly open beak, catch light in the eye.  You have nice detail throughout.
