Catching Oysters

This morning I went to the beach to see if I could find some Eurasion Oystercatchers. I found some. This one was working on some mussels . For more, please visit my blog on www.hansoverduin.nl/blog/
Thanks for viewing!
Have a nice weekend all, crying,
Hans

Very nice Hans. The low perspective and falling shells make this one special. Well done.

A grand picture Hans
Beautiful. The low POV has made the sand? look a little artificial but no big deal

Hans, I would expect nothing less from you.  This string of mussel shells is pretty great though.

Nice low perspective, excellent detail, and the falling shells makes this shot.  Well captured.

Excellent capture, Hans.  Just the Oyster Catcher would have been quite the shot, with the low point of view, but you timed it perfectly to capture such a great action shot with the falling shells!  Well done.

The chain of mussels really makes this image, Hans and your classic low angle of the Oystercatcher caps it off.  Very well done.

Hans, this is a wonderful image, especially with the cluster of shellfish (great timing!)  That low angle is often good, but I'm with John that the bottom band looks odd, done in post I presume.  Call me purist, but I'd prefer to see the OOF FG without that.

Hi Hans,

No nits here, I like the mussels getting scattered about through the feeding habits of this oystercatcher. Now all it needs is some melted butterenlightened...........................Jim

Thanks all for the kind comments !
I agree that the OOF foreground looks a little worked-on, however it's not - it's the result of the shallow DOF - sorry enlightened

Hi Hans
Really great low angle, detail and action, but the gray banner is distracting.

Killer capture, Hans!  Great, exposure, color and detail on the Oyster Catcher and the oysters are a particularly nice bonus.  It looks like you buried the camera in the sand to get this perspective but it worked nicely.  I have to agree with the moderator in choosing this for the pick of the week.  devil

Outstanding image.  I agree the chain of mussels makes the image unique.  The low angle is also super.  Congrats on the WP.

Wow ! Thanks a lot for picking out this image. To be honest, it's one of my personal favorites of 2017 as well - looking back at a rather busy year with not as much shooting time as I would wish for. Congrats of course to all the others here on the EPA page devil. Cheers, Hans
