Leopard with Kill

Here's a male leopard with a freshly caught warthog. Three days prior, this same leopard had caught a fully grown impala. The male and female leopard with whom it was mating had finished off that catch. Nikon D 500, 1/640, f/8 and ISO 1000. Richard

Very nice pose and expression. It should scare his enemies. Lovely setting. I like that there aren't too many leaves and that the branches are all reasonably sharp.

Cheers,

Hisham.

Powerful image, Richard, of a prolific hunter who is guarding his prey.  His facial expression and his protective stance tells us he means business and we see just enough of the warthog to appreciate this leopard's hunting skills.  Love it!

It has the looks, the blood and the kill too !
I may prefer to selectively darken the frame.

The attitude and body pose of this leopard is about as perfect as one could hope.  Color and exposure on him looks great as well.  I think the graphic nature of the warthog lunch probably moves this from wildlife art to wildlife documentary for many viewers, but it is real! Only wish is for a slightly different background that would have eliminated a white sky.    Nonetheless...great drama!

Richard,
Wonderful image, white backgrounds with "kill in a tree " shots, but no bother for me.
