Goldfinch at puddle
Pool work severely hampered by so much rain. Birds have too much choice.

While I like our yellow and black goldfinches, I have to admit that your European ones are even gaudier. Excellent detail and pose, John. I like the little ripple around the end of the tail.

One of my favorite European birds. I wish the American Goldfinch were just as colorful. I like this image. Nice job on the detail and background.

John, I am really enjoying your signature posts. I can tell it is one of yours the moment I see it in the lineup. This is a wonderful colorful bird with great detail in a very natural setting. So much nicer colors than the American goldfinches.

Wonderful image. I like the detail and the color. Only small nit is I wish the angle of view were a bit lower. However, I understand you may not have had that opportunity.

Thanks again all.
Ed
The reason I have the hide at that height is for two reasons- to get a bit more DOF on the birds at the front of the pool so that when they are back on with head turned, they are more or less in line with the camera sensor.. I can also see more of the birds back. Also it would be diifficult to lower the hide or raise the pool.
Thanks for your comment.
