Trumpeter Test Run

Another one from the private performance put on by the local Trumpeter Swan pair.

In this one, they had both made a short 'almost flight' across the pond, apparently testing their pretty new feathers.  They were settling back into the water when I took this shot.

Its only a slight crop for composition so I could crop more to bring them in closer but I kind of like the inclusion of the background for environmental context.  Please feel free to voice your preference though.

Sony a6500, FE 70-200 f2.8 GM w/1.4X TC @ 183 mm, ISO-100, f/7.1, 1/4000, hand held.

I like the action and the setting, Gary. The "touchdown water" completes the scene. Well put together!cool

I especially like this in the larger version, where you can see clearly that you captured the splashes perfectly.  I like the inclusion of the background and the choice of crop.

Cool action and good dof to get them both so sharp, Gary.  Their size in the frame works ok for me.  I do wish they didn't overlap one another and I'd be tempted to lighten the bg a touch to get some separation between the beak of the near bird and the dark bg.
