The 'humble' Pigeon

Pigeons are perhaps not the most attractive subjects and often very much overlooked to photograph, but I quite liked the light on this one whilst on an early morning walk a while back, as it 'illuminated' the subject.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed the previous thread.

I agree that the light on this is quite pleasing.  The warm toned background allows the bird to stand out well.  I do find that the shaded leaf is a little bit of an eye magnet.  And speaking of eyes, I think the pigeon eye nicely mirrors the colors in the background which benefits the image.

Nice light and a nice color palette. Your exposure made the eye really pop. But I think that big leaf needs to be either darker or brighter.

Nice light on the pigeon and the background, Steve.  If you're into playing with such things, I'd be tempted to paint a little extra light on that leaf.

Darker gentlemen, if it's lighter then it would draw the eye more.

Thanks
