White Mountains, NH

Another image from the same morning as my last post. This particular area is situated above The Basin; a natural geological formation that was scoured out by boulders along with the constant water flow of the river.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

That mood though!  Could see burning down the brc/rock to keep more focus in the middle.  Very cool scene!

I like your composition and the way that you have showcased the stairstepping cascade.  The greens add some nice color and the fog gives this a moody, yet peaceful feel.

Another excellent shot from that morning, Ed. The larger detail image really makes me feel like I'm standing there again. Perfect SS to capture the water flow. Wonder why this doesn't have more comments?devil

Love the soft impressionistic feel that the fog creates. Shutter speed looks about perfect, and subtle lighting from above is the topping on the cake for me.  ANother fine shot from this area.  Wonderful detail in the large version.  Nothing to change for me.

Ed, I enjoy this image a lot. There is a wonderful dynamic balance for me. I like to follow the flow of the cascades, while the mighty rocks anchor the composition well. Your exposure and processing is spot on to my eye and consistent with the atmosphere.

Beautiful conditions very well handled, Ed.  Love the atmosphere the mist provides.  I finally got out of the desert and I'm attempting to shoot some falls in Oregon.  It really makes me appreciate the quality of your images and this one in particular.  My only suggestion would be to lighten the left side or crop the darkest shadow area there.  I might even burn the right side to lessen the difference between the left and right.  Minor stuff.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Here is a repost with the suggested dodging of the left side rock and a little burning of the one on the right.
Gary: I hope you enjoy your waterfall trip to Oregon. I look forward to posts from your visit.

The haze works very nicely here to create a bit of dreamy effect.  I like this just fine.

Ed, this is wonderful! The repost does a lot to balance the image. I love the mist, and the shutter speed looks right on. Great work!

Sorry I am late to comment, Ed, but it's a beautiful image. I like the subtle changes in the repost. Excellent moody waterfall.

Ed, of your series, I prefer the composition of this image the others. Processing wise, my preference goes to #3 as there is more clarity and contrast, and especially less green tint.  Perhaps you can blend in more clarity to the foreground and leave the background with the foggy appearance.
