Buff Tip
These tend to sit still all day after they,ve come to the lighted window the night before.
About as close as the 50 mm sigma will go.

What a macro shot, John!  I have never tried stacking, and of course with most living creatures, that isn't an option.  Excellent detail.

Very cool.    I might have named this " Rough Customer"  .....He looks like a rugged sort of guy!    Or " Rode Hard"  ...sad

Shirley
Moths are ideal for stacking  as they do tend to stay still once they have settled in the daylight.

A fine look at this "big hairy beast", John.  A great close look at this moth.  Your stacking looks good, especially in the body region where there are so many fine hairs.  Getting that overlapped hair to show well in a stack is a challenge that I'm well aware of.

Hi John,

A nice mugshot of this little moth.  Fairly bright, but details are quite evident. Well done.......................Jim
