Sandstone Revisited #4

I'm continuing my journey through the sandstone archives.  Still getting surprised by what I previously ignored.  This was from over 5 years ago.

It sort of looks like a slot canyon, but it's just a sandstone surface catching some reflected light.  It's a slightly telephoto shot (183 mm) and there are six focus-blended images to create this composite.

I like the multiple repeating patterns here and the glow that was obviously happening.  The blue is a reflection from the sky.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts.

This is fascinating!   The colors and layers of rock shown here is an example why intro to geology is always a popular college elective.   Well done technically - stacking and detail captured.   I only lack a sense of scale ...a leaf, or familiar object dropped in the scene would clarify for me.   Sweet shot from the archives!

Wow

That's some very cool rock Tony.  I assume the surface rock is undulating and it isn't an optical illusion.

I like this one a lot.

This is real sweet. Great lines and colors. I would be inclined to crop off the bottom to eliminate the dark area, making it even more abstract to my eye. Excellent revisit.

Nice find, Tony, both originally and in your image archives.  I like the repeating, undulating pattern.  Very unique and abstract. As Ken said, there is really no scale, so the viewer is left kind of wondering what they are looking at.  That's not a bad thing, however.  The colors look good on my monitor. Areas of this composite look a little soft, but that's probably a web compression issue.

p.s., I neglected to comment on your previous post. I thought that one was a home run. Excellent in every respect.

This is amazing Tony.  I love the colors and textures.  It has a 3-D look about it as well.

Outstanding Tony.  This is my favorite by far.  It almost has an industrial vibe to it.  Like these are some ancient kilns or granaries.  Love this one.

The scene makes me think of a lineup of sandstone barrels.  I wonder if the yellows were brightened a little.

Incredible, Tony.  The repeating columnar rock forms receding from left to right  with the fascinating patterns and stunning colors, for me, make this simply amazing.  Another masterful piece in my opinion.

Wow, wat a great repeating formation, Tony.  The repetition both vertically and horizontally is wonderful.

Glad you keep working over the archives Tony; the patterns here work well, and as always you've really popped some amazing color.
