Just a beautiful flora image, Kathy. Elegant  subject and a really nice bg. I like the single leaf on the stem. I like the nice soft look. Well done.

p.s., this looks to me like a dahlia rather than a mum.

Kathy, it is a beautiful, flawless photo. I love everything: portrait, simple composition, colors, the BG with a sense, neatness.

This is a gorgeous bloom, Kathy.  The seductive striking colors make it pop against the greenery.  Lots of us tend toward a misguided attempt to over sharpen, but I know from experience that many flowers naturally lack detail.  While the upper petals are soft, rather than detract they emphasize the beauty and focus the eye toward the central parts.  There's a soft halo around the stem which looks pretty cool.  My only minor nit is I think it could use a bit more real estate top and right.  A real beauty especially considering handheld.

Gorgeous colors and very painterly. Love the bud in the middle and the sense of a future blossom.

This is beautiful Kathy!  I love the colors, comp and background, but mostly I love the lighting.  Excellent work!

This has amazing, vibrant, yet rich and elegant colors in both flower and BG. Great DOF. It may just be my monitor, but there appears to be a bit of a halo effect along the stem?

Beautiful work! A minor correction on the stem halo and she wins the day!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!!  As far as the glow goes behind the stem, there seems to be a hint of it in the raw file.  The processing brought it out, it wasn't due to sharpening. I kind of liked it. On the other hand I can see where it would be an imperfection. Going to play with that.

Best to all!!!!

Beautiful, Kathy.  The leaf is a perfect addition to the vibrant flower.  Excellent angle.
