Juvenile with a Snack

A young Bald Eagle flying off with a small fish.  Caught it right as it went right over my head.  I could have taken the shot with my 16-70 landscape lens!  It was almost too close for the 70-200.  Taken at Valdez, Alaska earlier this Spring.

Sony a6500, FE 70-200 f2.8 GM @ 88 mm, ISO-100, f/5.0, 1/4000, hand held.

Much more impressive in the large view.  Nice flight shot.

Fast reflexes to catch it when it's that close, Gary.  Excellent detail in the Eagle and the fish.

Nice close look at the eagle.  I like the background as well; for me it somehow seems to embody the vastness of Alaska.

You really got close on this one.  I like the wing position.  And yes that is quite a small fish.  But I suppose they will eat anything they can catch.  I wish there was a little more light under the wings but the light conditions here are not the best.

Nice flight image.  Good details, and wing position/pose.  Prey is always a bonus.  Love the landscape inclusion, but wish for a little more detail in the darks.  Recommend viewing in the larger version.

Hi Gary
Nice action and detail.  Must be great fun to have Eagles flying that close to you.

Very nice action shot Gary, if you have more room on top I would add that and take a bit off the bottom. devil
