Grappling Raptors

This is a continuation of the battle between the same pair of juvenile Bald Eagles from my last post.  In this shot, the eagle on the bottom has a choke hold on the other eagle's throat.  I'm guessing that would be a bad experience!  After they called it off and separated, neither one of them seemed to be seriously damaged so I'm guessing that despite the ferocity of the conflict they must be pulling their punches somewhat.

Sony a6500, FE 70-200 f2.8 GSM @ 142 mm, ISO-100, f/9.0, 1/1000, hand held.

Very cool action, Gary.  A nice sharp image.  I could spend a lot of time looking at a large print of this.

The large image shows this with much more clarity. I wonder If they are siblings?

I'm really impressed that you are able to get so close on both this and the other image.  I think I prefer the other image because there is more separation between the birds.  Really nice action on both of these images.  Good job on the focus and detail.

I'm impressed you could get this close. Very nice detail throughout and frozen perfectly.

I wonder if it was siblings roughhousing or what. I've seen BAEAs fight over food, but not like this.
