Here's one from Madera Canyon, AZ last year.  This guy was coming in to our feeding station. It was bright mid morning sun so I used some fill flash to reduce the harshness of the lighting.
Canon 5D3 500F4 1/2500 F8, iso 800, fill flash at -2.0, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley head, blind.

Very nice as presented. Fill flash took care of the harshness of the light.

The fill flash made it seem like there was no harshness to the lighting at all.  The colors of the bird look perfect.  Great perch and background.

The lighting is superb.  This is a terrific illustration of how well a fill flash can balance color and reduce the harshness of light.  Of course, this would be a much better image if there was a head turn. (Sorry Nate, I had to mention that since you frequently bring it up with many of my images.) (a tease of course)

Cool species well captured.  I was there a couple of weeks ago and captured many images of this species, but nothing this good.  Well done.  No issue with the pose or head turn from me.
