Making Chapatis

Chapatis are an unleavened bread made from finely ground whole wheat flour, salt and water. In India, they accompany meals and are often used as an alternative to forks. In use, a small portion of the chapati will be torn off and used as a scoop. In this photo, a woman is preparing a large quantity of chapatis for meals. I liked the strong colors, how she is surrounded by her cooking implements and the action of adding wood to the fire. Taken with an Olympus E-M1 and 12-40 lens at 1/40, f/6.3 and ISO 1600.

I'm really loving your images of the indigenous people in your travels. Here, the poor abode, bright garments, and glowing fire, make for an exceptional image.
Fine image!

This is another great shot of simple life in simple places with very bright garments and wall color. Love the fire and the hand cooking. She must be one tough cook.
