Bolivar Flats Plover

My technical advisor and I had an enjoyable visit to the Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary in Port Bolivar, Texas last week on our way to the High Island rookery about a 30 minute drive down the road.  There is always some sort of bird "action" going on at Bolivar Flats, especially during an incoming tide.  I saw this Black-bellied Plover at water's edge in almost full breeding plumage.  It was very windy that day and I spent some time trying to keep sand away from my lens.

Nice detail, Paula.  I think a bit of a curves adjustment on the plover would make it pop from the bg a bit more.

Salt and sand don't have a lot of good effects on cameras or lenses! I agree with Dennis. Some adjustment, either with the subject and/or the BG would help.

Nice image of this beauty. Might be just the angle of the beach, but it feels that this may ned some CCW rotation to trick the brain into thinking  the bird is level.
