Alpine Driftwood

Excellent abstract you created. Reminds me of microscopic images I have seen of mold or such. Great tonal range and very 3D feel. Love everything about it.

Fascinating find for sure. Can't say I've ever seen a piece of driftwood like this - and for you, which of course made this a very worthy subject!

Lot's of shapes and textures to explore here and despite being quite random and chaotic, there seems to be some controlled order here. Maybe it's the tonality.

For me, I would consider playing with the processing a bit.  It seems bright overall (which may have been intent.)  Perhaps some deeper blacks and some contrast overall might do the trick.  Of course at this point it's all about personal interpretation.

The only other suggestion might be a slight crop to eliminate the revealed background up top. There's also a little knob sticking up in that space that catches my eye.  There are other spaces that reveal the ground that maybe you could burn down a little, but those aren't that problematic.

I like this a lot and think some minor tweaks would take this up a notch.

Jim, I'm thoroughly enjoying this frame filling look at these tortured and weathered roots.  The peeks on through at the background add a touch of intrigue that I think works well.

Great tones and shapes.  Beautifully done.  I agree with cropping the top background.   A crop at the side and/or bottom to remove background would ruin the shape you've captured. 

Nice abstract design made by the movement of the wood. I like how the decision to make this black and white, it works. 

Very cool abstract! I might kick up the contrast a bit, especially adding some pop to the darks? As presented, a real fine image too!
