Fish for Dinner?

The stilts are always so elegant and with their black and white plumage, they remind me of a hoity-toity waiter in some super high class restaurant.  This Black-necked Stilt was rather far away so I didn't feel comfortable with cropping any closer and decided to leave it fairly loose in the frame.

7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/2000, iso 800, manual exposure.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 7.2 MP before resizing.  I didn't do much to this but straightening, noise reduction and sharpening the stilt a bit.  Taken yesterday at 7:55 AM at Charlie's Pasture Nature Preserve in Port Aransas, Texas.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

PS  Thanks to Sandy for calling my attention to an oof bird in the bg (or a dust blob) off line so I could fix it and repost and again!  I had to zoom in to find that second dust bunny.

Thanks

Love this - tough to get that deep-set eye visible, bright, and red.
Great pose and leg position, nice prey, and beautiful water!

I really like this, Dennis. The composition works really well and you caught a great pose from the Stilt. The fish is a great bonus.

I really like this one.  I like the position of the bird in the frame and the reflection.  Once again, a very simple image due to the natural environment.  One of the nicer images from your trip.

The timing with the catch, the leg pose and exposure are wonderful, Dennis.  While some may prefer a tighter framing, the wider comp really works to illustrate the open environment.  Clean and simple image well presented.

Excellent Image Dennis,
You made some wonderful choices on this composition as all the elements work extremely well together.
A true work of art . . .  laugh
