Back to the Sea

I have moved to the Netherlands for three months and for the first time I live very close to the sea. This is a great opportunity for me to explore the sand and the water. At the moment I am very fascinated by the drawings the water left behind after the high tide. This is one of the first attempt. Any thoughts and comments are very much appreciated.

Wonderful shapes, designs and color variations left by the outgoing tide.  The leading line to the sunrise/sunset adds another dimension.  Lots to look at in this image.

Mattia,

I really like the low angle perspective emphasizing the flow of the retreating tide and the leftover patterns in the sand.  I also like the proportion of land to sky, with the sky having just enough to add to the scene without feeling like it was being left out - if that makes sense.  The contrast of light and dark in the opposing corners works well too.

the only thing I wish could change are the contrails. Nothing you could have done at the time so not a big deal.

Nice job on the processing too.

Lovely reflected light on the sand ripples.  The warm and cool tones are a great match as well.  The sky contrail is a little bothersome to me, though I know sometime difficult to avoid.  Cloning out is an option for you if that is in your wheelhouse, but overall minor compared to the rest of the image.  Just being picky!  The lack of detail near the sun is fine for me, as there naturally wouldn't be detail there anyway.  Enjoy your time in the Netherlands!

Love the designs in the sand and water and how you have placed such dominance on the foreground, thus emphasizing those wonderful patterns and colors.  While contrails are sort of a fact of life these days, I would seriously consider cloning out the narrowest contrails to minimize an distractions from the superb foreground of your image.

Such a rich landscape Mattia. The sharpness works well to make the reflected light splendid. I too love to remove contrails enlightened
