This is another from the Death Valley area made last week. I chose to present it with the cyan/blue morning coloring intact to emphasize the warm/cool tones.

Real nice, Harley. I like the light-dark-light-dark-light layers. The cyna/blue light contrasted with the warm light on the dunes works very well. No nits, here.

I like the layers and depth of the image. The sweet light in the center dunes are a great focal point and add some frosting to a fine image.

Harley, there is a wonderful interplay of light and shapes in your image for me. I really appreciate that you kept the cooler shades of the morning atmosphere.

The sweet morning light on the dunes and the blue morning color work perfectly, Harley. This one is really good. I hope you got an image that compressed this scene with just the dunes and background ridge cause that looks pretty spectacular also. I love the peaceful, quiet light in this harsh place. Beautiful.

Really well timed image, Harley. The soft light on the dunes and the and cool colors gives this a feeling of tranquility. I like it as is, but I think I actually prefer this cropped from the top to eliminate most if not all of the sky.

Harley,
Wow, that is some special light and timing with the light on the dunes. Gorgeous.
Whatever cyan you caught in this one, isn't much to start with, but good job processing - the colors are wonderful; subtle but wonderful and nicely processed.
Torn about the sky. This is an excellent landscape as presented. Beyond the ridge is a bit hazy and non-descript... the good news is the first light striking the dunes is, well, striking.
What a sight! Kudos.

That light is just so amazing, and I remember my excitement when I was there a few years ago for the first time as the morning light hit the dunes. The shape of the dunes and the angle you are seeing them from is perfect to emphasize that light. I like the blue colors in the surrounding hills and shaded dunes. This is a unique view of a place that we see many pictures, so congrats to you for that.

That is pretty special light. Love that part of the park. Spent a couple nights there a ways back. Great work.

Beautiful and dramatic lighting. Your subtle processing looks good to me. I like that you retained the blue tones. The sky is not adding much and I can see an alternative comp with the sky cropped out working well.

Gorgeous Harley. The first word that popped into my head when I saw this was "soft". I'm not speaking of sharpening there, but the feeling it exudes. The pale coloration and lighting give this such a welcoming, soft feeling that it just invites you into the scene. A truly beautiful image.

For me it really enhances the image that you caught the wonderful low angled sun light hitting the dunes only and not any of the rock formations in the BG. Very well done! Thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful light on the dunes. Might have tried a tighter view of the dunes, but this gives a better sense of place. I would expect this would be a good wild flowers season out there, with all of the Sierra snow. Maybe you'll be back!

Harley: Marvelous play of light and shadow. I'm with Scott regarding a top crop but this works really well for me as is. Most excellent.>=))>

At first glance I thought this would be so much better cropped. ...then I looked at it more and decided nope; you nailed it. I love the sense of scale you built around this, and the light on the dunes is so cool.
