Mountain Coyote

This is from last winter in Yellowstone. I drove ahead of a pair of coyotes near Lamar valley and waited for them to show up. I took this shot as the first one showed up over the ridge. He posed for about 30s and inspected the landscape. He' squinting because it was very windy and bright. I then decided to increase my DOF but the sun was so bright behind me I couldn't see my settings in the viewfinder and ended up with overexposed frames. I think more detail in the mountains would have improved the image.

More detail in the background mountains would have improved, but tough to do at 800mm.  Nice composition.  Positioning the coyote in front of the darker background makes him pop nicely.

Beautiful frame and Coyote is very nicely placed against darker mountain. I wished to see his eyes.angel

I think the background is great (best part of the image, IMO) and am not sure if more detail would have improved it.  The added texture could have served as a distraction.

Quite a nice image! Sure some more detail in the mountains would've been good, but stuff happens ;) .
