Ice Burst

With a surprising hard freeze last night, I got another chance at pond ice images.  Here's a "closing shot" for this week's theme.  A 5 shot stack for dof.  (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 + 1.4 TE, 1/6 s, f/18, iso 200, tripod and cable release)

Incredible color in your pond, Mark.  This reminds me of some of Chuhuly's glass sculptures.  Very cool.

Man, the way the fresh, clear ice bends the light from the colorful vegetation in your pond is amazing.  I like this as presented, but your title leads me to to think it might be even better as a square image of the left side, concentrating more on the graphic impact of the "Ice Burst."

Mark: Wow! I love everything about this. The leaves poking through the ice seem to be the epicenter of an explosion of color. Well seen, composed and captured. devil>=))>
