We got a foot of snow a couple of days ago. I have a few favorite subjects that I like to shoot during bad weather conditions, at least what most people feel are bad conditions. This old pickup is one. It was snowing and piling up fast. I liked the B&W better here because it captures the feeling of abandonment and cold better. Thanks for you comments and critiques.

Canon 7D
Sigma 120-400
Aperture priority
Shutter 1/400
Aperture f8
ISO 100
200 mm
B&W conversion in Lightroom. Very little other processing.

This is an extremely nice image for a bad situation, Richard. I really like the falling flakes captured in the image too, really adds to the rough looking conditions out there IMO.
What a neat old step-side pickup as they're referred to for having the rear fenders outside the bed. Poor old thing with the snow pilling up inside too......cheeky

It looks bleak indeed Richard. I like the old truck with the snow cover and the snow coming down. The BG feels very dark and foreboding, and it seems a bit busy for me. That may be the mood you were going for in creating this.

Great old truck and excellent way to photograph it! I like this a lot. It would make a fine Christmas card, too.

What a great mood. I love the falling snow. Your B&W treatment works very well. Nicely done, Richard.

Richard,

A wonderful, story-telling image.  Love the captured falling snow and the profile of the old truck being covered in snow.  Oh, the stories this old one could tell.  I can see why you have some favorite subjects to go to when the conditions are right.  Great work.
