Canon EOS 7D EF400mm f/5.6L USM
1/800 sec;   f/7.1;   ISO 640
Manual;   Evaluative metering
LR5, PS6, Topaz DeNoise on background, Topaz Details on bird, 67% of full frame

So, a brown duck on a background of green and tan reed reflections.  In a way she is framed by tan reeds.  I really like this, and I think she looks so sweet in this image.  But does this work for you?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

It works extremely well for me, Barbara.  A beautiful image.  The only thing I'd do is try to tame the one bright reed stem in the upper left corner that keeps drawing my eye.  Well done.

Very nice. Excellent detail. Nice, natural colors. I agree about darkening the bright reed as Dennis points out. I'd also rotate this 3.5-4 degrees clockwise.

Image is very nice.  The "environmental" reflection adds to the image.  My view of the image is that it needs a CW rotation as the reflection of the eye does not line up with the eye.  I tried it in Photoshop to see and it is about 3.5 degrees off and looks better rotated.

Thank you very much for the feedback.  Here is a redo with a 3.5 CW rotation.  This is a rotation of the already-cropped image, so it's smaller than it would really need to be if I rotated and then re-processed the original RAW image.  But this crop and size does get rid of the bright reed reflection in the upper left corner. :)

Nice sharp look at the resting duck.  I like the reflections and how, to some extent, the reeds frame the duck. Good job in processing.

Repost looks a little better.  Colors are great.  I like the pose and the reflection.

Great colors and reflection in this one Barbara and the adjustments to it are an improvement for sure. Maybe it's just me (no one else mentioned it) but I prefer just a little more room above the duck than below it. I really love that peek-a-boo look from the Teal and the wonderful environment!

Really nice light on this duck, Barbara. Nice detail and that pose is great. I like the repost with the rotation, I think it could maybe use just a smidgeon more rotation. Nice job!
