Three Amigos

This is from an African visit in 2014. The three rhinos were not bothered by our visit, but we did hear later that another vehicle was rammed by one of the three. I shot at f/20 to get all 3 animals in focus. Nikon D4 and 80-400 lens at F/20, 1/400 and ISO 1100. Richard

This is a beautiful image but one which I find rather sad.  We have to wonder how many of these three magnificent animals are still alive as the scourge of poaching to supply horn for insatiable Asian markets is decimating them.  It is good that you did not reveal the locality of the animals as being anything other than "African".

Hi Richard,

I like the detail on this image, especially as shown by the texture on the skin of the 3 amigos. Despite the harsh lighting you did a good job on nailing the exposure on this one...

Cheers...

Nice group shot Richard. Amazing the sharp detail at 1/20 sec. Good thing they weren't moving, especially toward you.

Good image.  I just can never get over how prehistoric they look.  Good detail in this, and yes, you did a really good job on handling the light.
Good job of getting them all in there. You don't just ask them to pose, do you?
