Shrouded Yosemite + Repost
by Harley Goldman
I know the view from Tunnel View has been photographed many millions of times, but I find it to be one of the most breath-taking scenes of anywhere in the world I have been. So I always wander back and generally never take the camera out of the truck and just take it in the landscape. This day the fog was moving in and around, so I set up. And just for a moment gave a glimpse of Half Dome in the back. It was fun hanging out and waiting, BS'ing with the other photographers (and there only were 8 or 10, a low number for there any time of day).

No doubt, an epic view, and like you, I will not hesitate to take the short jaunt up the hill to this spot, just to take it all in, and hope for something dramatic.
This is a classic take from here; the fog/mist changing second by second and this works quite well. Especially cool that Half Dome is peeking through. I might agree with some selective contrast adjustments, but this is pretty good as presented.
The bar is pretty high from this spot, but how can one go wrong here? This works for me and takes me right there - wish I was there!

You got some great images from there. Fascinating to see them all.
A wonderful take from the old tunnel spot. The processing is excellent too......
I have one from this spot several years back now that I really like that is a B&W conversion from Velvia LF.
The sighting and slight glimpse of 1/2 Dome is a good hunting for focal point. I think that is an icon the world looks for in any of these photos taken in around the tunnel view.
8-10 photogs sounds like the park was on limited entry compared to most days. As the sierras have been deluged this year with LOTS of snow and rain this spring should be a bonanza with vegetation, water flows, and wildlife all around......
