I am working on a project that has me going back through my floral archives. I thought I might as well post some images that were never posted for one reason or another. This one is from 2012. Dahlia, Fellows Riverside Gardens. D700, 180 macro, f6.3, 1/80, iso 400, tripod. Suggestions and other comments welcome. crying

Nice selective focus, and a delightfully"gentle "image. Dahlias are my  favourite flowers. I grow about 40 varieties for showing.

Scott: Superbly crafted shot. I especially like the color palette, DOF/POF choice and comp. Most excellent. >=))>devil

Hi sCott, a wonderful subject, colours and focus are spot on!  Personal taste (very much) i'm really in two minds about the right-hand green BG coming in so tightly around the flower head ...

Lovely image, Scott!  I love the comp and the beautiful pastel colors in the flower and the bg.

Beautiful soft colors, Scott. Good DOF choice. I like very much the tiny dew on the petals. Nicely done!

An interesting use of relatively shallow dof, Scott.  It almost makes it look like one flower in front of another.  I think it might work better for my taste if the oof foreground petals were sharp.

I love the placement, color and softness of the dahlia. I have the same objection to the aqua color that Mark has.
