Sugar Coated Orchard

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted January 24, 20172,504 views11 comments
Taken with Sony A6000 in illustration mode.  Yesterday's snow transformed the bland, grey, winter world into a magical fairy land.  The illustration mode, in my humble opinion, completed the magic feel to the scene.   I assume photo art is not excluded from the weekly challenge, so I want to share this in this forum.  Moderators feel free to move it if necessary.

Rules say anything that fits in "any" of the other Galleries, so I think you're safe, Patricia.  A very neat effect and an excellent composition.  I'm seeing little hints of red here and there in the image.  I don't know where it might be coming from, but wonder if a conversion to black and white would finish this off?

The photoart treatment gives this a fine "oriental drawing" style, Patricia.  The foreground tree stands out very nicely as your treatment emphasizes its fine shape .  I like this a lot.  (There are lots of trees here, so it fits! sad )

That's a very cool effect, Patricia, and I agree it helps give a magical feel to this scene.  I like the comp, too.  Very nice!

A delightful graphic quality to this, Patricia.  I can see it as a book illustration to some magical tale - that foreground tree has such a vivid personality !

I like this very much and think the processing adds to it. Very Asian feel to it, and does look like it could be an illustration for a book.

Very cool rendition, Patricia. My only suggestion would be to clean up some of the odd, darker vertical lines in the snow level especially around that line/tree on the left side... or maybe just clone that line away entirely.

I like the swaying curves in the foreground tree.
