Cold Snowy Rain

That's what it was on the final day of my Yosemite visit last week. So, I made this image from the window of my vehicle, wIndow glass was my tripod.  Gotta adapt!

The window did well enough. Nice and moody.

I might go for a tad more contrast to separate the FG tree from the background.
I like it a lot.

This reminds me of that one tree Ansel shot during a storm. I'm sure everyone has seen it. This has the same black and white pattern of branches and snow which was so appealing. It would be nice to maybe get some more separation of the tree. I would try lightening up the trees on the right bottom to the level of same trees higher up. It looks as though the mist was rising in that area.

Very nice, Jeffrey. Great mood to the image, very somber and introspective.

Way to 'macgiver' the tripod.  This was worth the creative effort.  What a stunner tree!  I wish the background were the dark and taller stand of trees on the right... to have the entire oak in a halo of dark trees and not the bright sky at top would have been sweet to see, too.   Nicely done... a moody shot...'and miles to go before I sleep..."  R Frost

Nice shot Jeffrey in challenging conditions. Got out of there just in time, too!

There's a bit of distortion/OOF in the LLC probably due to the windshield but not a deal killer.

Excellent Jeffery.  Love the big (oak?)trees placement in the frame.  I always carry an umbrella just in case, cause these conditions are magical.  Very nice.

Jeffrey,

This old Elm is the greatest tree when the conditions let it be. ;-)  The socked in fog and the right amount of snow makes this one a classic beauty.  Love it as presented, no nits.

Great atmophere here, Jeffrey. The light is perfect to emphasize the beauty of that tree. Well done!

Nice, moody image, Jeffrey. The tree has a lot of character to go with the moody atmosphere. Well captured and presented.

This is outstanding, Jeffery! The fog creates some wonderful mood and nicely simplifies the composition. These are some epic conditions - hopefully you burned through a few memory cards..

A beautiful tree and a wet snow shows all of the nice details and textures.  The tree feels a bit too far left for me for some reason.  Not sure why, but I want the tree to occyupy that small area to its immediate right.  So a couple of steps to the left might place the tree a little more to the right.  Maybe the tree would become too centered. Glad you were dry for this,

Absolutely stunning image, Jeffrey.  The mood, while somber with the fog and monchrome color, is so peaceful and quiet.  Your composition could not be better.  Exquisite work.
