Foggy RT Hawk & Repost
by Dennis Plank
I went down to Ridgefield NWR last Wednesday with the weather service promising the fog would burn off in the morning. It never did, so I ended up with a bunch of moody images. Some images seem to work that way, and this and one other of a different RTA seemed to reflect the atmosphere of a typical Northwest winter. Even the rather ragged plumage seemed to fit.
I could have defogged the hawk considerably more, but I felt it would look too unnatural against the foggy bg.
7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 562 mm, f/9, 1/640, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, +2/3 EV. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to a 13.4 MP 4x5. Slight sharpening and tonal adjustments to the hawk. Taken at 11:43 AM on December 21st.
Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.
